Mmm Mmm Mmm, What's Your Flavour?
So you've decided on a cake, but now which flavour to choose - that's the hardest bit!
VICTORIA SPONGE
Apparently this choice was Queen Victoria's favourite cake and so named after her. A Classic cake flavour with a Jam and Buttercream filling - I could eat this until it comes out of my ears!
VANILLA
Similar to the Victoria Sponge, but with a hint of Vanilla Extract in the cake and Buttercream. Seedless Raspberry jam to fill just like Raspberry Ripple icecream, yummy!
CHOCOLATE
Certainly one of my favourites as a choc-o-holic, just the right blend of pure 100% cocoa powder into the mix, baked slowly to retain the flavour and finished with a Chocolate Buttercream filling.
LEMON
A definate layer for a summer cake - zingy and fresh sponge with Lemon Buttercream and optional Lemon Curd for extra zest.
COFFEE & WALNUT
Sponge with a hint of coffee and a Coffee Buttercream filling. Walnuts are optional - personally I'm not a fan of them, so I make it without also!
CARROT
Moist rich carrot cake with pecans, cinnamon and ginger - perfect for a winter wedding.
GINGER
Fresh, Stem and ground ginger go into this deliciously gingerly cake. Another layer that goes down well at a winter wedding.
FRUIT CAKE
The Traditionalists choice. Rich fruit cake covered in marzipan and icing, a true classic.
